How it works
Two minutes to the basics. Every clip below uses the game's own poses. Want to try as you read? The game has a guided tutorial under Play.
Movement
Walk with left and right, jump with up, crouch with down. Double-tap forward or press Dash to dash; keep holding forward to run.
WASD or arrows · Shift dash · Controller: left stick, LB
Attack
Light is fast, medium reaches further, heavy hits hardest but leaves you open. Hold down for low attacks; attacks in the air are overheads.
J light · K medium · L heavy · Controller: X Y B
Block
Hold Block. Hold down as well to stop low attacks; stand to stop jump-ins. Press Block just before a hit lands for a perfect block: no chip damage, less stun, extra meter.
Space · Controller: RB
Parry
Press forward and Block together right before a strike lands. The attacker is stunned and wide open. Mistime it and you're the one who gets punished. Ultimates can't be parried.
D + Space together (toward the opponent)
Grab
Grabs beat blocking. If you're grabbed, press Grab straight away to break a normal throw.
I · Controller: right trigger
Combos
On hit, chain light → medium → heavy → down + heavy (launcher). Press up after a launcher to chase them into the air. Long combos deal less damage per hit, and wall and floor bounces work once per combo.
Momentum
Running and dashing build momentum: low, medium, high, extreme. Momentum attacks — like heavy while running — hit harder the faster you move, and become critical impacts at extreme. Blitz is built around it.
Specials
Each fighter has three specials: Special, forward + Special and down + Special. Some charge while held. Blitz also has an air special.
U · Controller: A
Ultimate
You fill your meter by landing hits, blocking and parrying. When it's full, press Ultimate for your fighter's cinematic finisher.
O · Controller: left trigger
Clutch
At critical health every fighter enters a clutch state with its own trade-off. Blitz's REDLINE: more acceleration and far stronger momentum, but you slide further and steer worse.
Online play
Play → Play with friend creates a room with a code and a link. Your friend opens the link and you fight directly, peer-to-peer, with rollback netcode. No accounts. Quick fight finds a random opponent, and offers the CPU if nobody's around.
Controls
These are the defaults. Every key can be remapped in the game under Settings → Controls, and the game always shows your current bindings.
