Terms of use
The service
STICKKEN is a free fighting game you play in a web browser: local fights, fights against the AI, and online fights against other players. By playing it or using this website you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Acceptable use
Play fair and be decent. You agree not to:
- cheat in online matches, for example with modified game clients, injected inputs or tools that give an unfair advantage;
- harass, threaten or impersonate other players, including through your display name;
- use offensive, hateful or illegal display names;
- flood, overload, probe or attack our servers or other players' connections, or run automated traffic against them;
- try to access admin features, other players' rooms or data you're not meant to have;
- use the service to break the law.
Security research is welcome if it's careful and non-destructive. See the contact page for how to report issues.
Online play
- Online fights connect your browser directly to your opponent's (peer-to-peer). Your opponent's browser can see your IP address. See Privacy.
- Rooms are temporary and expire. Matches can end early because of connection problems or an opponent leaving. We can't guarantee any particular match.
- We may limit, pause or switch off online features at any time, for example to protect the service from overload or abuse. The website and offline modes are designed to keep working when that happens.
- Our servers never decide or record match results. There are no rankings or prizes.
Display names
You choose your display name, and you're responsible for it. Names are shortened to 16 characters, stripped of special characters, and shown only to your opponent in that room.
Ownership
The game, its characters, code, art direction, music and sound belong to the STICKKEN developer. You may stream, record and share clips and replays of your own play, including in monetised videos. The game uses open-source software and fonts under their own licences: the Godot Engine (MIT licence), and Bebas Neue and Chakra Petch (SIL Open Font License).
Availability and changes
We provide STICKKEN "as is" and "as available", free of charge. We may change, pause or discontinue any part of it, including characters, modes and balance, at any time. We may also block access for anyone who breaks these terms.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent the law allows, the service comes with no warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability or freedom from bugs. Some fights contain rapid motion, flashes and screen shake. The game's settings can reduce them (Reduced motion, Reduce flashes, Screen shake). Stop playing if you feel unwell.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the developer isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of a free game. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or any rights you have as a consumer where you live.
Ending use
You can stop using STICKKEN at any time; clearing this site's data in your browser removes everything stored on your device. We may suspend access to online features for anyone who abuses them.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we'll update the date above. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the new terms.
